TDP142: TDP142EVM test

Part Number: TDP142

Hi Sir,

Our customer use the Tektronix DPO73304SX & DPR-100 want to verify TDP142 performance,

if Series TDP142EVM in system, then can't test, remove TDP142EVM can test DisplayPoart and Pass.

System is Graphics card--> TDP142-->Test Tool--> monitor

is this TDP142EVM junm setting issue? or how to verify?

The EVM operates using the 5-V VBUS from the Micro AB USB connection (J13). If users do not wish to use a USB external power supply, either 5 V or 3.3 V can be provided using the test headers onboard: 5 V through TP3, 3.3 V through J11. It is important that only one power source is used, do not connect multiple sources at the same time.

The attached file is our customer test result is Fail on EVM,

do you have any suggest for EVM setting?

Do you have the detail on the failure? The pre-emphasis and random jitter come from the graphic card, not from TDP142 (TDP142 is a redriver, it does not clean up the random jitter from the graphic card and will add small amount to the total random jitter) . You may try to tune DP142 equalizer setting to see if it will help.

The test report is over 25M very big, can't Through messages system, The following is fail item.

Test 3.3_RBR/HBR Pre-Emphasis Level Verification Testing-->Lane 2 Fail

Test 3.3_HBR2/HBR3 Level and Equalization Verification Testing-->Lane 1 Fail

Test 3.12.2_Random Jitter (RJ) Measurements-->Lane1 & Lane2 & Lane3 Fail

Are they running with EQ of 0?

If they run the compliance test directly at the output of the graphic card, do these tests pass? If these tests pass, can they try a different DP cable between the graphic card and DP142 EVM?
