TUSB1044: I2C Defaults

These pins all have internal pull-down, so it is ok to leave them floating when in I2C mode.

When in I2C mode, the configuration will be set as the default value according to value in the I2C registers. Unfortunately, the default can't be changed.

One more question. Like I said I'm replacing a TUSB1002A, as I can't find stock. But I'm only using it for 5Gbps. Currently we are using the TUSB1002A with a redriver setting of floating for the EQ levels, so 8.4dB @ 2.5ghz / 13.1dB @ 5ghz.

I'm wondering if it would be better for me to use a TUSB544 instead of TUSB1044? If I continued to use the TUSB1044, which I might depending on what is in stock, is it possible to match my gain setting I have on the TUSB1002A? The TUSB1044 doesn't list what the gain is for 2.5ghz.

You can use either TUSB544 or TUSB1044 as two devices are pin to pin compatible and TUSB1044 will support both 5G and 10G data rate. For EQ gain of 8.4dB at 2.5GHz, the DEQ1 = 1 and DEQ0 = 0.

Great, thanks for the help. One last question and I should be good to go. Do the I2C values load dynamically or is there a way to trigger them being loaded to be used. For instance if we were changing VOD_DCGAIN_SEL, or UTX1EQ_SEL etc do they change as soon as written to the register?
