Good afternoon,

I was wondering what the maximum datarate is for the R and D lines? I found reference to 10mbps in 1 place on the datasheet.

    Hi JP,

    Since these kinds of transceiver devices do not have an internal clock, the maximum rate of operation is limited only by the output transition times. A general rule of thumb for maintaining good signal integrity would be to try to keep the transition times to less than 1/3 of the bit period. Since the maximum transition time for this device is 20 ns, it would be capable of supporting data rates up to ~16 Mbps.
