SPI Flash first time programming through I2C

Part Number: TPS65982

We are implementing TPS65982 Application Code Update through I2C according to the Firmware User Guide, 4.4.1.

Application code starts from address zero, so we skip some steps.

This flow works well for updates.

Question – is this flow (or any other flow) expected to work for the first time programming when SPI Flash is empty?

Hi Gregory,

This flow is not expected to work the first time programming an empty SPI Flash. The I2C update mechanism will only work once there is a valid image in the SPI-Flash. When the SPI Flash is empty, an external SPI programmer should be used to program the flash.
