DP83867IR: 100Base-TX Mode

I am using the DP83867IRPAP part in 100Base-TX mode. According to the spec and like other PHY's, the TX and RX clock are driven from the PHY. I have hooked up my part using external straps to auto neg and the other side is telling me its connected at 100. I do show the link led is active on the part as well. the RXCLK, Enable and Data work but the TXCLK is not outputting any clock or enable or data. The spec is somewhat confusing since some pics show the TXCLK as an input to the PHY in the Functional Block Diagram on Page 25. Don't see an errata on this either. Can anyone help on this...

Hi Alan,

What interface are you using? DP8386IRPAP supports GMII and RGMII.

Can you send a schematic of your design?

Thanks for the schematic. Yes, when configured for GMII mode, the DP83867IRPAP operates in MII when resolved to 100base-tx.

I see a few problems with your straps:
R182 should be populated. If you intended a pull-up on RX_D5 to get into mode 4, then R193 must be 2.49k or stronger.
R195 should be populated to achieve mode 3 for RX_DV if autoneg is needed. Your schematic notes say you want autoneg.
R183 should be populated if you want mode 2. If you want the device in MII mode, then you will need to disable RGMII. Depending on your automdix needs, it should be set to mode 3 or 4 appropriately.
