AM26LS31: Device behavior when the output pin is pulled up and power off

Hi,

My customer is considering about the device behavior when VCC for driver IC, AM26LS31, is turned off and the output pin is pulled up to VCC by pull up resistor on receiver side. Is there any problem in the situation?

Customer worry about that any current flow into the output pin in the situation.
I believe that It's no problem based on internal circuit which is described in the datasheet, if there isn't any additional circuit, ESD circuit or something, in actual device.

For this device I can confirm that there is not an issue if the differential output is pulled up to a voltage less than 5.5 V.

Hi, Max-san

I have an additional question related to this thread.
The customer will also use MC3487D as a driver instead of AM26LS31. I believe output stage of these device is same based on datasheet, so that I think your answer for the question for AM26LS31 in above can be applied for MC3487D. Is my understanding correct?
