Hi,

We have a system with FPD III camera I/F using the DS90UB960-Q1 deserializer.

We want to be able to test our system with high resolution "known" test videos.

We thought of using this EVB board as a bridge feeding it from FPGA or FTDI.

1. Does serializer is compatible with the DS90UB960-Q1 deserializer?

2. Did someone have a different idea / solution to test FPD deseralizer with known input driven from SW?

Hello Gilad,

The UB921 is not compatible with the UB960. With the UB960 you can use one of these: UB913A, UB933, UB935, UB953.

For testing this DES (UB960) you can use, for example, the UB953 and turn ON its internal Pattern generator.

Hi Hamzeh,

We want to be able to inject real video for system tests.

The UB953 input is MIPI and we cannot generate it.

We look for a digital I/F serializer which can be controlled from a computer / FPGA.

i.e. PCIe / USB / DPI to FPD link.

Can you suggest a serializer which is compatible with UB960?

Hello Gilad,

Unfortunately, there is no Serializer with these Interfaces compatible with the UB960.

I'll search for a serializer from a different supplier.
Can you explain why they are not compatible?
FPD link is a standard right?
Are there different versions?

You can use Test pattern generator inside DS90UB953 to generate various video patterns. Please refer to the 953 datasheet on various patterns that you could use and generate from DS90UB953 Serializer. (Here are the relevant datasheet sections in our datasheet)
