TLIN1029-Q1: UART Connection

Part Number: TLIN1029-Q1

Hello, I would like to connect the TLIN 1029-Q1 to the MSP430F2155. Do I have to provide pull up resistors? For EN I can use the internal pull up. What about RxD and TxD?

Many Thanks

  • Andreas,

Unless there is an internal pull-up on the pin connected to RXD on the microcontroller that can be used, there will need to be an external pull-up resistor, as it is an open-drain output. Both EN and TXD are inputs and thus will need to be driven by the MSP430, so pull-ups shouldn't be necessary unless required by the output of the microcontroller, which i don't think is the case.

Both pins will still function correctly with pull-up resistors added.

    Regards,
