DS80PCI402: whether distance between the PCH and Re-driver can be 20inch （20000mils) of DS80PCI402

Hi team,

My customer want to use our DS80PCI402, but they don't know whether distance between the PCH and Re-driver can be 20inch （20000mils）. Could you please help check whether it's ok and how to decide it?

    Hi Frank,

    Please noted Table 2 of the DS80PCI402 data sheet, based this table DS80PCI402 can equalize 20 inches of 4-mils FR4 trace. In this case, we need to select level 7 equalization setting. Please note this setting depends on the insertion loss of the media that your customer is planning to use. Please have your customer to take a look at Table 2 and knowing the loss/attenuation of their media they can select correct equalization settings.
