DP83822I: Relation with T2,max and T3,typ

Hi team,

Could you give me advice on how long should MCU wait for accessing PHY? In my understanding, the datasheet specifies the T2,max, and T3,typ, in that case, can it happen that MCU can access the register of PHY right after T2,max, but the hardware setting is not completed because T3 takes time more than T2,max? Should MCU access many times to confirm if the hardware setting is completed or not waiting after T2,max?

Hi Sasaki-san,

To confirm, you are asking about power up timing, correct? In that case, the MCU can use T2 (max) as the wait time before accessing the PHY.

Hi Aniruddha,

Thank you for your answer. I see the power up timing case. What about the case of reset timing? T2,max shows 2ms in max, and T3,typ shows typical 120ms, at the datasheet. Waiting time by 120ms is enough for accessing the PHY from MCU?
