DS90UB953-Q1: if 954 output connect to 953 input is suitable

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi team,

If we can use 953+954 through the way(as attached file shows), from my side it is fine to use in that way, but I am not sure about it, could you please give me some more professional suggestions about this kind of application. Thanks a lot.

Hello,
Is there only 1 sensor in the system or two? The 954 has the replicate mode where both ports can be programmed to output the same data which can go to the two ECU's.

Thanks for the quick reply.
There only has one sensor in the system, as the picture shows. Yes,954 has the duplicate mode, but if it is fine to connect 954 output port with 953 input port and then to 954 input port and finally to the processor, I am not very sure about that kind of application.

Hi, this question is asked by me.

Yes, just 1 sensor input, 1MP/60fps/10bit/monochrome, using 913 to be the Ser. I think the bandwidth seems no problems to transfer the signal when 954 working on replicate modem, since I saw each MIPI of 954 can achieve 1.6Gbps?

Please help to confirm if it has some questions.

#2 If the signal quality will be affected when used In that way?
#3 If The signal quality of 954 output will be in tolerable range of 953 input?

pls see below feedback:

TI: this is functional design, not special application for UB953/UB954 if the I/f interconnection can be met. when UB954's data is sent to UB953, it is well if the CSI2 I/f is matched based on both d/s.

#2 If the signal quality will be affected when used In that way?
TI: Not, the two links are separated.

#3 If The signal quality of 954 output will be in tolerable range of 953 input?
TI: yes. same as #1, please check the UB953's CSI2 input range (Up to 4 Data Lanes at 832 Mbps Per Each lane).
