DS90UB948-Q1: maximum supported nodes (hops)

The DS90UB948 datasheet on page 26 describe the "Maximum Repeater application". it says that "Two levels of Repeaters are supported with a maximum of three Transmitters per Receiver".
I need to have a one trasmitter to one receiver configuration, but I need more levels than two (up to 10).

It's the DS90UB948 support this configuration?

This limitation is due to I2C addressable number of devices?
I not need the remote (passthrough) I2C functionality... every device couple (SER/DES) will be managed locally by a MCU.

Two levels are what we recommend even if it's one TX to one RX.
Our device doesn't retime or redrive the clock/data. Each link will add additional jitter which is why we do not recommend more levels.

Sorry Charley,
there's a TI solution to carrier video (and audio if possible) with a resolution of 1920x1080 over 15mt using a twisted pair that allows to do (theoretically) infinite hops by retiming ?
