XIO2001: PEREST and GRST

Hello,

I have a question about XIO2001 PERST and GRST.

The datasheet says that GRST should be deasserted before deasserting PEREST during power up.

What kind of problem could occur if PERESET deassering before GRST deasserting?

I’m asking this question because I may have to add some additional circuit to perfectly avoid this condition if it could occur something big problem.

Regards,

Oba

  • Oba,

If PERST is asserted before GRST it could cause the PCIE bus interface in XIO2001 to be in a incorrect state. GRST latches some necessary internal logic for PCIe communication. Also keep in mind of step 5 of the power-up sequence is required by the PCIe specification.
