SN75DP130: we can’t adjust the vswing via Intel’s APPLET tool, it seems be limited by DP redriver.

Part Number: SN75DP130

Hi Alec,

Due to the whole DP SI compliance test that need to be measured under various mode.

However we can’t adjust the vswing via Intel’s APPLET tool, it seems be limited by DP redriver.

Does the DP redriver SN75DP130SSRGZR can adjust the vswing or not?

  • Dennis

DP130 is a limited redriver, so it monitors the aux interface access to DisplayPort Configuration Data (DPCD) registers during Link Training in DP mode to select the output voltage swing VOD, output pre-emphasis, and the EQ setting of the Main Link.

    Thanks

  • David,

    Thanks for your explanation.
If we cannot modify VSWING by Intel’s APPLET tool, then please advise how to validate the signal integrity with SN75DP130?
  • Dennis

Are you enabling or disabling the link training? If link training is enabled, then DP130 will snoop the AUX bus and set the SWING and Pre-emphasis level per the request on the AUX bus. If link training is disabled, then you can manually write the SWING and Pre-emphasis level to the DP130 I2C register.

There is also a I2C field 'BOOST' which can be set to increase/decrease SWING and Pre-emphasis by 10%.

    Thanks
    David
