Hi Team

We want use TPS65988 on Type C dongle with cable. We want support 20V@5A.

PDO will setting 20V@5A , Did we need e-mark chip on system or just setting PDO for 100W ?

Hi Kerr,

You would need an e-marked cable to advertise 20V@5A if your design is using a receptacle. If your design is using a plug, then you would not need the e-marker in the plug since the cable type would be known.

Thank you so much. I have setting PDO 20V@5A and Receptacle type is Tethered fully-featured cable with USB-C plug.

But CC log show 20V@3A , Have any other setting?

Hi Kerr,

I just checked on this with the team. It turns out that you would still need to have an e-marker when setting the Receptacle Type to "Tethered fully-featured USB-C plug" as the TPS65988 does not complete the SOP' termination that an e-marker would do.
