Hi,

I have connected a tusb1064rnqevm board to my PC (through usb-c cable) and a Monitor through a Display Port (DP) cable, but it doesn't work and it does not detect any external monitor.

Do you have any suggestion about the correct setup?

Is it possible to do that using the default configuration stored in the flash?

What is the correct configuration for all GPIO available on the board?

Speaking about power, does it need the external power supply or it take whatever energy it need from the usb-c?

Is any i2c configuration required to let PD working?

Please refer to EVM user guide: www.ti.com/.../sllu278.pdf.

If testing the DisplayPort only, or if bypassing VBUS power, the EVM must be powered through J8 (5-V, 1-A input).

If you go the 'display setting' on your PC, does it show the presence of 2nd monitor?

thanks for your support.

The User Guide is indeed the first thing I read before starting with the dev kit.

I have found a way to use this board now.

I would like to ask you few more questions about it:

- when is the external power (through J8 connector) required? Can you make some example? The User Guide states "if testing the DP only", but what does it mean specifically? I use the EVM to stream out video data from the PC (it is connected to the USB-C on one side and PD to the other one), Is that a case when I should provide extra power?

- For demo purpose I want to connect a TUSB1064RNQEVM to another devkit that does DP to HDMI conversion, do I need to provide external power through the J8 connector?

The EVM can be powered from VBUS or external power jack (J8 connector). But when it is in DP 4 lane mode, there is no guarantee that VBUS will always be provided, so it is safer to provided the power to the EVM through the J8 connector.

Hi,

I have connected a "dp/dp++ to hdmi" cable to the TUSB1064RNQEVM and a HDMI monitor, but I cannot see any image on the monitor.

Both DP-2lines and DP-4lines configurations have same behavior.

Why is it happening?

I am not sure it is an active one, probably not.

they says: "The 6 feet cable connects a DisplayPort / DisplayPort++ (DP/DP++) enabled computer to an HDTV, monitor, and projector with HDMI input for audio and video streaming. (Note: NOT bi-directional. Only converts signal from DP to HDMI)" and I have assumed that it is the correct.

I am going to try with an active DP 2 HDMI converter, and I'll let you know.
