TCAN1042GV-Q1: Question about TXD logic output current

Part Number: TCAN1042GV-Q1

Hi Team,

About the TXD pin of TCAN1042GVDRBRQ1, customer also wants to know the logic output current. And I don't find it in the datasheet. The requirement from customer is about -0.2~-0.02mA. Could you please help to provide this parameter? Thanks!

Best Regards

  • Hi Zhengquan,

The TXD pin is an input. What would be meant by "logic output current" in this case?

  • Hi Max,
Sorry. For RXD of TCAN1042GVDRBRQ1, it mentions logic output current in the datasheet. For TXD pin, it should be "logic input current". Could you please provide the acceptable input current? does it meet the requirement of -0.2~-0.02mA?
In addition, if current need to be kept at ~2mA(Recommended Condition) when RXD pin output the logic signal, what is the 8mA(Absolute Maximum Ratings) spec used for? and if customer wants to use at -5mA~5mA, whether will it cause wrong voltage level or other impact?
    Thanks a lot!

    Best Regards

  • Zhengquan,

Eric's answer in your other thread is correct:

Additionally, I'd like to point out that although this is a high-impedance digital input, it will consume some small leakage current (particularly when driven low due to the presence of an internal pull-up resistance). You can see this leakage current spec by referencing the IIH and IIL specifications in the "TXD Terminal" section of the datasheet's Electrical Characteristics table (Section 7.6).

Please let me know if this is unclear or if you have further questions.

    Regards,
    Max
