Dear Sirs,

My customer asked us about Eye-Pattern measurement of DS90UB929-Q1.

Please inform me more details of measurement condition and measurement method of Eye Pattern at Typical Characteristics of datasheet.

They say that Total Jtter will be over 0.3 UI no matter how many times it is measured on the EVM.
(FPlLink III: 2.6 Gbps)

In particular, please explain the details of the connection diagram on page 14 and how to measure the input signal and output waveform.

Thank you for your reply.

My customer measured FPD-Link output jitter , however measurement result is over specification.

Measurement condition:

HDMI Pixcel　Clock:74.25MHz (720p)

FPD LinkⅢ　2.6Gbps : 1UI≒385ps

Measurement result:

Total jitter : 160.5ps

Please let l me know how to improve TotalJitter with EVM. (Including measuring method, setting etc)

Hello,
Excessive jitter can be caused by different sources in the system such as excessive PCLK jitter, power supply noise, cables/channels/connectors and reflections etc. You need to ensure any specifications in the datasheets related to these components are all met to have an overall clean system without too much jitter.
