DS90UB913A-Q1: Setup for oscilloscope

Hi

I have additional question relating to following post.

1.

For FPD-LINKIII test, should we disable back channel?

Is it enough to disable BC enable control bit (0x01:BC enable)?

We want to capture EYE pattern properly.

2.

Do you have information for proper setup of oscilloscope?

Measurement instrument : KeySight DSA-X91604A

If you have materials, could you please share it?

BestRegards

  • Nana,
    1. yes, you just need disable/power down the BC driver in the de-ser side;
    2. what do you want to measure? for the line data test, you can refer to TI's d/s, which has bandwidth setting requirement.

    best regards,
    Steven
  • Hi Junqiang

    Thank you for your reply.

    >2. what do you want to measure?

I will attach a file which is discussed in relating E2E post too.

    0083.E2E_post.xlsx

Our customer wants to confirm if they could measure DOUT of DS90UB913A and input of DS90UB914A correctly.

So, they asked us if there is a special consideration to measure FPD-LINK III signal by oscilloscope.

(I don't know if there really is)

  • Hi

Is it possible to emulate internal adaptive EQ in the UB914 by oscilloscope?

And I appreciate if you could share the oscilloscope setting for FPD-LINK III compliance testing if any. (It is OK whatever the oscilloscope maker is)

    BestRegards
  • Nana,
    1. if you measure the data eyediagram between UB913a output and UB934's input, you should disable the back channel. or you can't get the high speed signal eyediagram clearly.
    2. regarding the oscilloscope setting to measure the high speed serial signal, you can refer to TI's UB934/914a's internal CDR bandwidth, the scope's CDR bandwidth is set as the same as UB934/UB914a's bandwidth, which is ~PCLK freq. / 15
    3. the CML_OUT of UB914a/ub934 is the high speed signal after the internal EQ but without the back channel signal, so you also can measure the CML_OUT. the scope CDR bandwidth setting is same as the item2 test.

    best regards,
    Steven
