THVD1450: A and B channel continuous shorting

Part Number: THVD1450

Hi,

I am using THVD1450 in half duplex mode.

In case of both RE and DE are enabled (But there is no communication going on) and if l B channel is grounded (PCB common ground) and there is no signal on A.

What could be the possibility. Is there any chance of damage to IC. Amy violation of maximum operating condition. or something else.

Thanks

  • Hi

In THVD1450, each A and B pin has its own driver. In general, they work separately. Could you give more information about what you've seen? How's your setup, like supply, the state of control pins (like D), load (any resistors on the bus)? Do you see this behavior on one device or multiple ones? If you ground A, would B have no response as well? When did this happen, during operating, after power on, etc?

    Regards,

    Hao

  • Hi Hao,

I my question I am asking about the possibility I mean what all possible issue can be there if I shorted any of the channel to ground.

Is any possibility of damage of IC, Hange issue or something else. let me know.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

In the case of shorting any bus pins to ground, there should be no damage to IC. These two pins can stand -18V to +18V individually and have internal short current limit.

Please let me know if you have other concerns.
    Regards,
    Hao
