TPS65981: Ferrite bead on VBUS

Genius 17295 points

Hello

I have a question for ferrite bead selection on VBUS line for TPS65981.

TPS65981 EVM uses 21 ohm, 6A ferrite bead on VBUS.

Is using ferrite bead recommended on VBUS?

Also is 21 ohm recommended? Any other values are OK? Is there any recommended range?

Regards,

Oba

  • Hi Oba,

The ferrite bead is used to help filter out some of the high-frequency noise on VBUS. This is not a mandatory component and is not required. However, it is recommended if high-frequency noise is a concern. We found that the ferrite bead on the EVM is the best option for this purpose. Similar specified components can be used.

    Thank you,
