Why in some TI document full speed on-chip USB module with 12 Mbps is referred to as USB 2.0?

Hi,

As we know USB 1.1 speed is 12 Mbps and USB 2.0 speed is 480 Mbps. Why in some of TI documents the on-chip USB module with 12 Mbps speed is referred to as USB 2.0?

To what standard does TI refer?

  • Hi Hossein,

USB 2.0 is the specification that added high speed, but it also incorporated some full-speed / low speed improvements / changes as well. A USB 2.0 compliant, full speed device is still full speed, but incorporates any FS/LS updates in the USB 2.0 specification.
