I have to complain because I bought an lvds-18b-evk and I found on it two very large errors.
Fortunately I was able to solve by myself but I think it is not serious to sell boards with this kind of quality.
The board's serial number is 4877600027, SV012258-001.
I describes the problems.
First, the two leds were mounted in opposite direction. The SERDES were locked (I checked by scope) but the leds were off. I measured them and I realize the were mounted in wrong way. Once inverted the started to light up.
Second, the serigraphy for SMA8 and SMA7 is wrong. Next to SMA8 DO+ is written and next to SMA7 DO- is written.
Please solve the problem as soon as possible in order to let other evaluators to work thinking about the SERDES not debugging the board.
I'm sorry I'm very little kind but, really, I spent more then two days working without any result due to this problems.
Leds mounted in opposite direction means that no checks were performed before selling and serigraphy errors means a very poor product design process.
