DS10BR150: Behavior if inputs are not connected

What will happen if the part is used with the inputs not connected. In our application a cable will be used to connect an LVDS driver to this buffer but I just want to make sure the part does not start oscillating when the inputs are disconnected from the cable? Is there a default output value? Or should we slightly bias the inputs to ensure a default value... We have a modest datarate of around 200Mbps.

Hi Christoph,

The result with no input signal is undetermined - so oscillation or random output transitions are possible. I would slightly bias the inputs to overcome the input idle condition.

OK, so I am biasing IN- with 10k to +2.5V and IN+ with 10k to GND, thus I am not shifting the mid potential too much (1.25V instead of 1.2V) and generate a slight bias of 12mV. Thanks for your help.
