TIC10024-Q1: IN_STAT_COMP Functionality

Part Number: TIC10024-Q1

Hi Team,

Good afternoon, I have a customer looking into using the TIC10024-Q1 and they are interested to understand - does the IN_STAT_COMP register latch when a switch state change occurs?

The concern is that if the switch state change is a short transient, the MCU may not wake up quick enough after /INT to go read the IN_STAT_COMP before the switch changes back. It is clear that the INT_STAT register is latched until it is read, however the customer wants to know which of the switches caused the event.

Please let me know if there are any questions on this.

Regards,

~John

  • John,

The IN_STAT_COMP register does not latch when a switch state changes occurs.  If the switch state changes again during the appropriate polling window the register it will update again.

You can set a detection filter to eliminate the issue of generating an interrupt for a short interrupt.  This will allow you to choose how many positive detection need to occur before an interrupt is generated.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hey Adam,

Thank you for the insight into this!

In this case the customer is interested in knowing the short interrupts (And which input caused them), we do have an alternate discrete solution.

    Regards,
    ~John
