DS90C189-Q1: Output MAP mode

Part Number: DS90C189-Q1

Hi,

I'm using DS90C189TWRTDRQ1. In the datasheet, there are two mode. They are "MSB on CH3" and "LSB on CH3". Please refer to Table 5 and Table 6.

How to configure the output MAP mode?

Thanks.

  • Hi,
Is there anybody to answer this question?
    Thanks.

  • Hi Kevin,

The mapping is configured by how you connect the pins. Please refer to section 1 of this applicatio note: www.ti.com/.../snla014a.pdf

  • Hi,
From this document, I can NOT find any information to configure the two modes.
Could you please guide me more details? Some registers? or Some pins? (How to configure the output MAP mode of DS90C189TWRTDRQ1?)
    Thanks.

  • Hi Kevin,

As stated above the mapping is configured by how you connect the pins, not by any registers (this device doesn't have any registers).

In the application note I shared you simply need to follow the instructions in section 1:

    1. Identify the input application (4 LVDS lanes or 8 LVDS lanes)
    2. Identify the RGB mapping format on your display datasheet (it will look similar to the left image of Figure 1 in the datasheet, where it shows the position of each color bit)
    3. Identify the pin number mapping on the SerDes datasheet (Figure 14 in the DS90C189-Q1 datasheet for 8 LVDS lanes and Figure 15 for 4 LVDS lanes)
    4. Map the RGB signals from your processor to the appropriate pins on the DS90C189-Q1 such that they match the mapping format specified by your display datasheet

    Regards,
    I.K.
