Hi,

Customer now plans to implement TUSB522P on the laptop between CPU and connector. May we know what is the MINIMUM trace length they should have at least between CPU and TUSB522P?

It will depend on the PCH TX driving capability and RX receiving capability, do you have the PCH design guideline? 6in probably is going to be a starting point, and may drive longer depending on the PCH.

Base on provided document, we can place TUSB522 10in from the PCH, and 1in from the connector.

Hi David,

Do you mean 10inch is the minimum trace length from PCH to TUSB522P? If the trace length is less than 10inch, the driving strength would be too big?

There is no min trace length requirement, 10in is the max length.
