Dear sir,
Our customer is using DS80PCI800, and they want to ask a question.
For our spec, the signal detect assert/deassert level is 180mV and 110mV.
But in PCIe CEM spec, the Vrx-eh-8g is 34mV. (please see the below figures)
Customers want to know why the difference is so much?? Why the TI spec is so strict?? Or what is intention to??
The eye height is only the inner eye amplitude. The signal detect voltage is refering to a clock only pattern. When the signal detect function is working with actual PCIe data at 8 Gbps the detection voltage is much lower. For PCIe applications we recommend the default setting for signal detect. It is used for 99% of redriver applications in PCIe.
Regards,
Lee
