ESD Protection Diode grounding method, which is more suitable?
1.Protection diode's GND is connected to USB GND and returned to the motherboard.
2.Protection diode's GND and USB connector metal shell GND are connected to the chassis ground.

    Lin-

    The best practice is to connect the ESD diode to USB GND so that you can ensure there is no ground differential. If there is a GND differential between USB and system GND, a USB diode to system GND can cause the device to clip the signal at the upper limits.
