Hi,

    In my new PCI card design, In the Controller card Primary  PCI bus from PowerPC processor is connected to PCI2050B. The Secondary PCI bus from PCI2050B is connected to 8 different PCI target boards which are less than 2.5" away from PCI2050B. My question is can I go ahead with this configuration, that case what is the maximum nuber of PCI targets the Bridge can support?

Note that  PCI2050B secondar bus is connected to a cPCI J1 connector, the PCI signals will run through this connector to a backplane and from backplane it is connected to pci target boards through that card's cPCI connector.

    The PCI2050B is capable of supporting up to 9 secondary devices.

    from the data sheet: The PCI2050B provides two-tier internal arbitration for up to nine secondary bus masters and may be implemented with an external bus arbiter.
