DP83822I: Radiated emissions

Part Number: DP83822I

Hi

We are have problems passing radiated emission testing with a product using the DP83822.

The problem frequency is 125MHz (250, 375, 500.. are also visible but below the limit). Putting ferrite clamps on the LAN cable reduce the radiation with 3-4dB and using a shielded LAN cable removes it almost completely. However, we don't want to force our customers to use shielded cables.

As I understand this is not an unusual problem and could possibly be fixed by filters between the PHY and the transformer. One example is the HPLE series of Mag-jacks from Wurth. Does TI have any recommendation on additional filtering? R-C filters, common mode chokes?

Have there been any emission testing done on the evaluation board?

Best Regards,

Thomas
