What are the pin and interface compatible options for the DP83640 if you are not using the precision timing capabilities? Is there a more cost-effective part in that case?

Unfortunately, there is no pin and interface compatible options for DP83640.

If this is for your new design, I would suggest to use DP83822. Link to product page: www.ti.com/.../dp83822i
