ESD122: Alternative part question

Part Number: ESD122
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD2E2U06, TPD1E01B04, TPD1E1B04, TPD1E04U04

Hi Sir,

This table shows the comparison of ESD122 and RClamp3391ZC, which is used by the customer for USB2.0.

Do you think ESD122 is a suitable alternative part to replace RClamp3391ZC? Or could you please recommend any other ESD parts to replace the RClamp3391ZC?

Thank you for your kindly help

Best regards,

Candcie

  • Candcie-

I can't seem to find any link online for the RClamp3391, can you double check the part number or share a datasheet. At a first pass, it looks like it is a good comparison though please note that the ESD122 is a two channel device, since it looks like the RClamp3391 is very small and is likely a single channel device.

For USB2.0, the ESD122 is a good part, or something like the TPD2E2U06 as described in our ESD selection guide.

    Thanks,

    Alec

  • Hi Alec

    Thank you for your reply.

RClamp3391ZC is a single channel device. I tried to compare it with TPD1E1B04 or TPD1E01B04, which are also single channel device but it seems that RClamp3391ZC has better spec than them.

The attached file is the datasheet of RClamp3391ZC. Could you please help me find a suitable alternative part? Or you think ESD122 is OK?

Thank you for your kindly help!

    Best regards,

    Candice

  • Hi Alec,

    How about TPD1E04U04 ?

Do you think it's more suitable?

Thank you very much for your kindly help.

  • Candice-

For USB 2.0, the requirements are relatively simply due to the <1Gpbs speeds. For this, the TPD1E04U04 is also a good bet, however I think the ESD122 will be better as it can protect both D+ and D- lines with a single chip due to the dual channel configuration.

    Thanks
