SN75LVCP600: Driving RX pins with part unpowered

Part Number: SN75LVCP600

  1. Can the RX side be driven non-destructively when the part is unpowered (assuming AC-coupling)?
  2. If it can’t, how long and what voltage levels can the RX side survive if driven unpowered?

  • It is possible to drive the device without destruction without a VCC connection. However, it is still required that the input signal meet the ABS MAX limit of -0.5 to 4V on the differential inputs. This will mean that the incoming signal source and the LVCP600 do share a common GND connection.
