DS90UB953-Q1: One frame of data is transmitted in two channels. Is there any problem with synchronization

  • Hello,

A single DS90UB953 device is capable of transmitting 4MP @ 30fps. Is there any particular reason why you would like to use 2 DS90UB953 devices in the system? It would help to better understand your use case.
  • Hello:

The customer's image sensor is 4K@30 frames (4K resolution :3840*2160), and ds90ub953-q1 supports 4mp-30 frames, which cannot achieve 4K hd effect (4MP resolution: 2560*1600). Could you please tell me whether the data transmission of 4K@30 frames can be realized with two ds90ub953-q1?Rather than sending a frame of data in two ways, can synchronization be problematic?thank you

    BR

  • Hello,

If I understand your use case correctly, you would like to use a 3840*2160 (8MP) sensor by outputting to two DS90UB953 devices. Synchronization should not be an issue since the image data source for both DS90UB953s is the same sensor. You can use the internal frame sync signal on the DS90UB954 to ensure synchronization as well.

However, it will depend on if the imager has the capability to output the data to match your block diagram. Also, if you have an SoC that receives the data from the DS90UB954, it would need to be able to merge that data back together.

As long as data is provided properly to the DS90UB953 devices, this should be feasible.
