Hi team,

Several questions for SN65DPHY440SS

1. Can SN65DPHY440SS be placed on the camera side or the SOC side instead of the middle position between camera and SOC?

2. How long can the signal be transmitted after SN65DPHY440SS? can it support 50cm?

3. If SN65DPHY440SS can't be placed on the camera side or SOC side, what else can you recommend to support MIPI CSI to transmit for 50cm length? Like a pre-emphasis to make it transmit longer or an EQ on the SOC side can recover after 50cm length transmission.

On the SN65DPHY440SS RX side, max RX EQ gain is 5dB, and max TX swing is 220mV (CFG0 = 2'b00) and pre-emphasis is 2.5dB. Depending on your max data rate, insertion loss of 50cm, source driving capability and sink receiving capability, these factors determine where DPHY440 should be placed and how long a trace DPHY440 can drive.

The maximum data rate is 1.7Gbps/lane for MIPI.

Could you please give an estimation under what condition our 440SS can support 50cm PoC cable?

1.7G or 1.5G per lane? DPHY440SS can only support 4 lanes at 1.5G.

What is the insertion loss of the 50cm cable?
