I'm faced with this problem: We have a processor with RGB(888) -output, and our display has RGB(888)- input, so this matches perfectly. Unfortunately, we have mainbord and display-board some way away from each other (10 to 15 cm). Thus I'm looking for a solution to serialize the RGB-signals on our mainboard (LVDS, MIPI-DSI,...) and deserialize it back to RGB on our display-board. There is no reason for using only one IC per board.
