DP83867E: TsetupT and TsetupR definition (snla243 figure 2)

Part Number: DP83867E

Hi Experts,

I want to understand TsetupT and TsetupR definition. My understanding is that;
- TsetupT: At TX datapath, it is specified at MAC TXC-pin.
- TsetupR: At TX datapath, it is specified at PHY TXC-pin.

Is my understanding correct?

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • Hi Fujiwara-san,

    TsetupT is the setup time when measured/probed at the transmitter. Transmitter in this case means the driver of the signal. In the case of RX pins, the PHY is the transmitter. In the case of all TX pins, the MAC is the transmitter.

    TsetupR is the setup time when measured/probed at the receiver. Receiver in this case means the input buffer of the device receiving the signal. In the case of RX pins, the MAC is the receiver. In the case of all TX pins, the PHY is the receiver.

    These definitions only apply to RGMII mode.

    Best Regards,
