TPS65987D: how to set Boot mode by ADCIN1 and SPI_MISO?

Part Number: TPS65987D

hi

I don't know how to set the ADCIN1 pin straps.

What conditons or factors we should to consider for choosing different Boot mode?

How to choose one mode in the Table 5 which is in TPS6587D's datasheet?

Please provide the details of explaination, Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Jesse,

The main factors depends on below factors:
    1. Do you want the chip to boot and make contract in dead battery mode?
    2. Do you want the chip to use one of the default configurations available in the device ROM?
    3. Do you want the chip to wait till VIN_3V3.

The potential divider should be connected between LDO_3V3 and GND.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Thnaks,
    Rahul
  • Thanks a lot!

If we choose the mode of "MISO=0; ADCIN1=0.45; Dead Battery Mode=BP_NoWait; Device Configuration=Configuration 3".

    1. how to set the value of MISO=0 ?  It just connected to Flash IC. Maybe we can not control it?

2.For Dead Battery Mode=BP_NoWait,   "The device continues to start-up and attempts to load configurations while receiving power from VBUS. Once configuration is loaded the appropriate power switch is closed based on the loaded configuration."

The loaded configuration is the one that stored in Flash IC?

If yes,  for Configuration 3 and the loaded configuration,  which one will performance ?  what is the operation mechanism for them?

    Thank a lot!

  • and the value range of ADCIN1 is 0~1V?
In the TIDA-01627, why does the value equal 3V? = 3.3Vx100K/(10K+100K)

    thanks
  • Hi Jesse,

MISO = '0' should be used only when you're not using any external flash and want to use one of the configuration from ROM.

MISO line should be pulled high if you're using external SPI flash.

If the MISO line is '0' then the PD controller will load one of it's internal configurations in your case it will be configuration 3. In this state the PD controller never loads the settings from SPI flash.

The value from 0~1 is actually the voltage ratio of voltage at ADCIN1 compared to the LDO_3V3. This input can vary from 0 to LDO_3V3.

Please click "This resolves my issue" if I was able to answer your question.

    Thanks,
