Hi,

My customer is wondering working theory of limiting and non-limiting redriver, 

Can you help to specify the working theory and difference? 

It will be much better if there are block for the description.

    A limiting redriver will have relatively high wideband voltage gain from input to output.  The voltage gain will be greater than 10:1, so even a very small 100mV input swing could be output at 1000mV amplitude.

    A non-limiting redriver will have a vey small voltage gain from input to output.  The voltage gain will be approximately 1:1, so a very small 100mV input swing would still be seen as a 100mV output.

    The non-limiting redriver is more transparent to analog voltage information.  This allows the system PCIe receiver connected to the redriver output to better optimize the link training process.  A non limiting redriver also works better if the system topology demands that it is placed close to the system PCIe Tx.
