DS25BR440: device dynamic & static power ratings query

Hi,

i'm in midst of looking into a suitable LVDS buffer for my application & i have the questions below which i'm curious to know of.

  1. What is the recommended calculation (or specification) for us to use to calculate this part’s power consumption (including dynamic and static power consumption)?
  2. Referring to pg/5 of datasheet "Electrical Characteristics" table, does the Icc in this specification already take into account the dynamic and static use? Or is this only for static consumption?

Also is this device able to operate as bidirectional LVDS buffer which capable of signaling rate of 1.6Gbps?

  • Hi Leo,

    The power consumption includes static and dynamic components.  It is a valid specification from low data rates all the way to 3 Gbps.

    This device is designed to operate in one direction only.  There is no provision for bidirectional operation.
