DS90UB954-Q1: Frame counter

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi,

we are currently trying to get an imager running with your serialzer DS90UB953-Q1 and the deserializer DS90UB954-Q1.

For debug purposes we would like to read a register for both serializer and deserializer, which confirms that data from the imager is present (frame count for example).

We also did read the datasheets but we could not find a register which would provide this.

Many thanks

Maximilian

  • Hi,

If you are using Analog LaunchPad you can monitor the information tab to see if you are getting the proper line count and frame size, in addition to any parity errors. In addition, registers 0x7D, 0x1D, and 0x1E should also give some information on whether or not there is information available from imager.
  • Hi,
I still have an issue with the frequency of the back channel.
In the datasheet of the "DS90UB954-Q1" it says on page 92, table 7.6.80 that 50Mbps is the "default for DS90UB953 CSI Synchronous back
    channel compatibility".
But in the datasheet of the "DS90UB953-Q1" it says on page 18, 7.4.1 that the REF Frequency should be between 23-26Mhz.
What exactly is the optimal frequency?
I found this a little bit confusing.

    Many thanks
    Maximilian
  • Hello,

That is correct. The back channel data rate will be 50Mbps when the REFCLK frequency is 23-26MHz. The optimal frequency lies between 23 and 26 MHz. In this range the device will operate properly and provide for a 50Mbps back channel data rate.
