Team,

the datasheet mentions "Connecting the magnetics center taps to a supply voltage is not necessary."
What is meant by "not necessary"?

Does it mean the customer is free to choose or he must not connect the center taps to supply voltage?

Some of our designs show the center taps not connected to supply voltage, others (such as 66AK2Gx ICE design kit) do have the center taps connected to supply voltage.

    Hi Franziskus,

    When the line driver design changed from current mode to voltage mode, connecting center taps to supply voltage is no longer needed.

    Customers should not connect the center taps to supply voltage.

    Can you point me to the schematic which show center taps connected to supply voltage?
