TUSB2077A: Device Descriptor read/64 error -32 in Ubuntu

Hello

After connecting the TUSB2077 to my computer running Ubuntu and running journalctl -f I get the following errors as detailed in the picture. I have also tried connecting to a windows computer but it also says device descriptor not found. Any ideas as to what maybe causing this error? I am currently not concerned with connecting other devices to the hub.

Just posted the schematics down bellow. Right now I am not concerned with the USB1_D lines, I'm just trying to get USB2_D lines to work.

Hi Kenn,

When you connect the TUSB2077 to a Windows system, can you load the usbview.exe tool and see if the hub enumerates and if it fails what the error is? I understand your application is Linux based, but there are better free debug tools for Windows.

I don't see anything obvious from the schematics, can you make sure that you see DP is pulled up on the connection from the host to the hub?

Hello JMMN,

Using usbView.exe it says [Port5] FailedEnumeration : Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). I have attached a screenshot for the full error. The DP connection is pulled up by the DP0PUR pin from the Hub. Lights for HUBCFG and PORTDIS are illuminated. Do I have to program the eeprom before use?

Kenn,

Please try pulling EXTMEM high, reseting or power cycling the hub and see if it enumerates. I see that DP is pulled high by DP0PUR in the schematic, can you confirm that actually occurs with a scope probe or multimeter?

JMMN,

Pulling EXTMEM and power cycling the hub hasn't changed anything. DP0PUR is outputting 3.25 V. The HUBCFG output LED is indicating the hub is not configured. Could this be a layout issue?

Hi JMMN

I have a TPS3809K33 voltage supervisor generating a reset signal as well as a button that can short the reset signal to Ground. The schematic is on the top of first page

There is no obvious issue from the schematic, do you have access to an oscilloscope to check DP/DM lines for traffic?

When the usb hub is plugged into a computer the DP DM lines have traffic. After windows states that enumeration failed the traffic stops.
