hello,

Is there any way to monitor the BIST ERROR while backchannel is not accessible due to cable attenuation? 
i need this information to check system margin.

    Serializer needs back channel to received BIST start command.
    If back channel is not available at all, BIST should not be used to check error

    954 could check parity error when only forward channel is running. Can you use parity error?
