DS90UB949-Q1EVM: EVM recognize as a DS90UB925

Dear Support,

My customer just tests his new DS90UB949-Q1EVM, which is well detected via USB; but the chip version is not recognized through the Analog LaunchPAD tool: it stays stuck on the DS90UB925 chip version.

Below the label from the EVM:

Is it a known issue?

Regards,

  • TISL,

Did customer try to load the correct profile from USB2ANY/Aardvark setup? Please check. This step is described in the user guide section 1.12.1

    Thanks,
    Vishy
  • Hi Vishy,

When we load the correct profile, it seems to take it in account, but it comes back to a DS90UH92x version:

Note that the customer already have 2x previous SerDes boards (UB94x) which work well.

The issue is only coming from a second version of SerDes boards, he just received:

This second version noticed as "not working board" above, seems identical (except the pcb color).

Are there any other modifications we should be aware of?

Below are some details of this second version.

    Regards,

  • Hello TISL,

Looks to me for the new board the jumpers and switch may not be set properly.

J41 should be 23       <-- this is not right in the zoomed photo

J37 should be 23      <-- this also looks not default

Also, by default for Switch S6 setting should be 1 ON, 2 to 8 OFF <--- looks like all OFF

Please ask customer to double check all jumper and switch settings. Below is EVM default jumper settings and switch settings

    Thanks,

    Vishy
