TCAN1043-Q1: Transient to Standby mode from Power-up or Wake-up Request

Part Number: TCAN1043-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

Hi Champs,

Customer wants to determine when device is in Stand-by mode, whether it shifts due to Power-up event or Wake-up Request event.

May I confirm if my understanding is correct about event indicator, which described in Table 1 of TCAN1043 datasheet?

"When device is in Stand-by mode, nFAULT and RXD signal indicate the causing event as below.

- nFAULT ="H" when caused by Power-up event, while nFAULT=L by Wake-up Request event

- RXD=H when caused by Power-up event, while RXD=L by Wake-up Request event"

Best regards,

  • Fujihara-san,

That is correct about nFAULT indication of power-up and wake up events. When waking up from Sleep mode into Standby mode, nFAULT is low, RXD is as well. On a power up event, nFAULT will be high in Standby mode, but go low as soon as Normal mode is entered. The datasheet implies RXD is high upon power up into Standby mode, but I'll need to check this in the lab.

  • Fujihara-san,

I just checked, and the RXD stays low in Standby regardless of if it's on Power up or wake up from sleep.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,
