LMH0340: Interfacing i.MX6 LVDS Display Bridge (LDB) to LMH0340

Part Number: LMH0340

I have a requirement to generate a 720p HD-SDI output from a NXP/Freescale i.MX6 Quad processor.

As the i.MX6 does not natively output HD-SDI, I had intended to used the LVDS Display Bridge (LDB) within the i.MX6 to drive a LMH0340 HD-SDI Serializer.

However the i.MX6 LDB outputs 4-bit data + clock, whilst the LMH0340 expects 5-bit data + clock.

I found an answer elsewhere that suggests that the 5th bit of the LMH0340 could simply be tied to zero but this would be encoded in the datastream and would have to be managed at the far end.

Unfortunately I have no control over the far end of the link which will be going directly to an HD-SDI monitor. I'm therefore concerned about any artefacts which this may produce in the video image.

Can you advise how I might successfully use this device in conjunction with the i.MX6, or suggest other devices more suitable? I also have a -40°C to +85°C operating temperature requirement.
