DS125BR111: PWDN pin

Part Number: DS125BR111

Hello,

Our customer use the DS125BR111, have a question about PWDN pin.

The customer configure the DS125BR111 via SMBus interface.

It is mentioned "PWDN=System control (Hold HIGH until Register Write process is completed)" at P32 on the DS.

Why does it need set to Power down mode the DS125BR111?

If the customer hold LOW the PWDN pin, is it impossible to write register?

Best Regards,

Naoki Aoyama

  • Hi Naoki,

I tried this in the lab and it is okay to read and write registers while PWDN is pulled "Low" or "High".  By programming while the PWDN pin is high the system will not receive any data until the correct settings are programmed into the DS125BR111.  In general this would not be an issue since the DS125BR111 programs relatively quickly compared to the rest of the system.  So allowing PWDN to go "low" during the programming sequence is not an issue.
