RS-422 to CANbus Transceiver

Hi there,

We're looking for a IC for RS-422 to CANbus interface conversion. Also it should be work with -40 celsius degree. If I can get a recommendation for this application, it would be wonderful.

Hi,

Do you want to convert RS-422 signal to CAN bus? Or do you want an IC work for both RS-422 and CAN interface, like 'level shifter'? If this former, it's hard if you want to comply with CAN protocol. Can you give more description about your application?

In this case, you may need to have:
RS-422 Signal coming from sensor -> RS-422 Transceiver -> MCU with CAN controller -> CAN Transceiver -> CANbus

One of the basic function RS-422 transceiver you may be interested is THVD1500 (low data rate, low ESD). I'm not an expert on MCUs. Here is an example - TM4C1230D5PM comes with one CAN channel. For CAN transceiver TCAN1042 is a good choice. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for advice, I'm also thinking that, MCU would be better. Is there any good choice for C2000 series ?

You can refer to this reference design, in which a C2000 (TMS320F28030) is used.
